2.Profile of RPI

Since its foundation in 1969, RPI has conducted more than 150 foreign projects. Services provided by the firm include preliminary study and planning, master planning, feasibility study, sector study, analysis of regional economy, systems analysis, consultation for industrial location and development, post evaluation of development projects, and technology transfer and dissemination for international development.
 
 
The majority of the firm’s experiences are in Asia, but Mid-east, Latin America and Africa are also covered. Besides Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Jordan are the most frequently served countries.
 
 
Fields of the firm’s activities include regional development planning, urban development planning, land use planning, transport planning, port and port facility planning, industrial development planning, tourism development planning, commercial facilities planning, economic and social studies including the Gender and Development issues, project assessment and evaluation, environmental studies and planning, landscape and architectural design.
 
 
RPI has a special task force for development of computer systems and network including geographic information systems (GIS). Three branch offices in local provinces of Japan contribute their locally accumulated experiences to the domestic and overseas projects.
 
 
RPI has experienced projects of AsDB, UNDP, UNIDO in addition to JICA and the former JBIC. Its domestic clients are mostly central and local government bodies.
